Lone Star College Cy-Fair Campus Career Day

The next speaker will be Kathleen Hogan, and she will begin at 1pm. Kathleen Hogan is an Executive Vice President of Human Resources for Microsoft. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard University. She also holds an M.B.A. from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business as well as sitting on the board of directors of the Puget Sound affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the TEchnology Services Industry Association. As the Executive Vice President of Human Resources at Microsoft she is responsible for pushing the company's cultural transformation forward so it can thrive in a mobile-first, cloud-first world.

The next speaker will be Tracy Keogh she will start at 12pm. Tracy is the Chief Human Resources Officer for HP or Hewlett Packard her job responsibilities include workforce development and organization effectiveness, benefits and compensation, staffing, global inclusion and diversity, and HR processes and information management. She also has a Masters degree in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Smith College as well as attending the University of Geneva in Switzerland. Tracy also serves in the Anita Borg Institute and HR Policy Association and is Chair of the Cornell Center of Advanced Human Resource Studies.

The next speaker will be Joyce Westerdahl, she will start at 11am. She is an Executive Vice President, a Human Recourses at Oracle. She joined Oracle in 1990 and since has held multiple positions in both line and corporate HR. She is leading Oracle HR's cloud transformation to ensure that business leaders and more than 135,000 employees to achieve Oracle's mission. She took over the HR department in 2000 and since has been implementing a road map of progressive HR modernization initiatives intended to keep Oracle at the leading edge of technology innovation. She continues to transform HR by leveraging Oracle HCM Cloud technology to provide better visibility, utilization, and development of the company's talent pool. Joyce is also very passionate about sharing the best practices and frequently speaks with customers and partners about Oracle HR's journey and the result that continues to transform the HR organization.  The first speaker will be Jill Larsen she will start at 10am. She is a Senior Vice President, Strategic Talent Acquisition, People Planning, and Services HR at Cisco. Jill's accomplishments include building global HR organizations, HR technology transformations, talent brand and employee engagement, total rewards, design and implementation of HR analytics, and the design of talent management and leadership development strategies. She also has earned a bachelor's degree in Communications and English for Boston College located in Newton, Massachusetts. Jill also has her masters degree in HR management from Emmanuel College with summa cum laude distinction and is actively a public speaker at the MA conference for Women, Simmons Women's Conference, the Executive Women's Forum, RSA Conference, and Working Mothers Media Leadership Summit. She is also a board member for the Parents Advisory Council, which connects needs educators and parents.

Lone Star College Cy-Fair will be hosting a Career Day on Monday, May 1, 2017 . The event will take place in the Instructional Part of the CASA building in Tech 102 and will start at 10am and will end at 2pm. The purpose of Career Day is to give students at Lone Star College Cy-Fair Campus an idea for what they would like to do in the future. In order to do this we brought four people from different career fields to discuss what led them on the path they are on today as well as any obstacles they had to overcome and to give advice to any students that still don’t know what to make of themselves. Our guests include Jill Larsen , Joyce Westerdahl , Tracy Keogh , Kathleen Hogan and Mia Parker all who have years of experience in their field and have a ton wisdom to bestow upon the many students at Lone Star College Cy-Fair.
